Witte C-30 Clamp Retracts Easily for Fast Cleaning and Inspection
Washington, NJ: Process equipment manufacturer The Witte Co., Washington, New Jersey (www.witte.com), has introduced a C-clamp that permanently mounts on machinery yet retracts easily without tools for quick access to the interior. Expanding the company’s line of C-clamps, the new Witte C-30 clamp delivers up to 1,700 lbs. of clamping force to establish a tight seal on machine panels, doors, housings, screen decks, and other parts, even when joining different materials and multiple thicknesses. For quick release and machine access, the Witte C-clamp features a proprietary, stainless steel yoke and roll pin assembly that allows opening with one hand and no tools without detaching the clamp from the machinery. When cleaning, inspection and/or maintenance is complete, the clamp may be returned to the closed position at the desired tension in seconds to resume safe machine operation.
Developed for design engineers, process engineers, and other professionals who need safe, easy operator access to machine internals such as in dryers, mixers, conveyors, tanks, and reactors, the C-30 clamp eliminates the need for steel bolts, rivets, welds, and other fastening methods that inhibit access. Complete cleaning and product changeovers move smoothly without concern for confined space entry.
The Witte clamp comes in cast aluminum and stainless steel construction, or in 100%, FDA-approved 303 stainless steel to meet USDA regulations and 3-A standards for the food and dairy industries. The clamp is proven in operation on the company’s line of vibrating fluid bed dryers, coolers, classifiers, and other process equipment.
