Process Equipment Manufacturer Unveils Testing Laboratory
State-of-the-Art Lab Features Full-Size Equipment For Accurate Process Simulation
Dry, Dewater, Screen, Classify In Fully Stocked 3,000-Square Foot Facility
Washington, NJ: Process equipment manufacturer The Witte Co., Washington, New Jersey (www.witte.com), has unveiled a 3,000-square foot testing laboratory at its company headquarters. Featuring full-size, fully-functional equipment, the Witte testing laboratory enables process, food and chemical engineers and other professionals to test the performance of state-of-the-art Witte equipment in processing their product or material while eliminating the risk involved in relying on error-prone pilot testing and scale-up.
To simulate actual operating conditions and suit a diverse range of materials and processes, the versatile facility boasts both a 12-foot long fluid bed dryer suitable for most products and a six-foot long fluid bed dryer with an integral bag collector for drying fine powders down to 10 micron. The Witte testing laboratory also offers a plastic pellet cooler/classifier; a vibrating dewatering screen; a vibrating screener, a vibrating conveyor and a host of auxiliary equipment including dust collectors, exhaust systems, anti-static infeeds, gas furnaces and steam generators. For maximum flexibility in meeting target specifications for moisture content, particle size, shape and other parameters on this equipment, the Witte equipment may be fitted with several of the company’s engineering innovations including its autoweirs, which provide real-time adjustment of dryer bed depth and retention time, and its C-clamp, which permits instant access to the equipment for fast, easy cleaning and product changeover.
